The It Gets Better Project.

...Hi...

I know. I have not posted for a very, very long time. But, hey, you'll get over it. Anyways, this is complicated. Mostly, my classmates are all doing the same thing. What happens is you have to check out this website called the "It Gets Better Project". The It Gets Better Project is a website that helps spread the message about how LGBTQ (Lesbian, gay, bi, trans, and questioning) people have hope, and how they can live like straight people- not being bullied and taunted about their sexuality. So, to spread the message, you go on the website and sign a pledge. It's simple but it helps support LGBTQ people a bunch. If you'd like you can visit the website right here at The It Gets Better Project. All the explaining about the website aside, there's more to the assignment than signing a pledge. We had to pick a YouTube video to watch by a famous person talking about the Project. Then, we had to create a Publice Service Announcement. Oh, joy. You see, what happened here was a roadblock, let's say. I hate my voice on tape, and so I didn't want to do this assignment from the start. So, this whole thing went over and in the end, I still have to do it, but my public service announcement will not be on the blog. Well, it will, but I won't be talking, like the other students. It will be typed. Anyways, here is what I'm going to say about this.

Hi, my name is Breah. I am in the 8th grade, and I am going to talk about bullying-related issues. Bullying is something that should be avoided. There are many forms of bullying, but I am going to talk about LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-gender, and questioning) bullying. In my opinion LGBTQ bullying is the worst kind. It is unfair and cruel to taunt someone based on the gender of people they are attracted to. Put yourself in their shoes. You live a normal life (in a way). You're a nice person and didn't do anything to any one. But, there's a catch. You're staright. Almost everyone else is gay, lesbian, bi, or trans-gender. Once you come out of the closet, people never seem to stop taunting and bullying you. How would you feel now? Would you feel like an LGBTQ person? Soon, after seriously considering suicide, you come upon a "Straight Rights Supporter". They tell you about the straight people whose lives got better. They also tell you about the straight people that lost their lives due to being bullied about their choices. Would you pick the path to live your life, and see that it gets better? Or would you choose the path where nothing gets better? Now, I'm finished with role playing. But, even I thought that it was alot harder with a couple of seconds of role playing. Not being an LGBTQ, I wouldn't know what it's like at all. But still, it's not a reason to end your life if it will get better.

Well, thanks for reading this... Public service announcement. Don't be afraid to comment if it's corny. I think it is. I shan't be offended. Anways, thanks!
